It is very likely that Samsung will launch the phone soon considering the Galaxy A10, A30 and A50 are already official. Samsung is looking to rapidly expand its portfolio this year, and the Galaxy A40 announcement could be around the corner now that it has been certified by the FCC.The Galaxy A40 has been spotted on the US certification website with model number SM-A405FN/DS soon after it was listed on Samsung’s UK website last week. The FCC listing, doesn’t reveal a lot of information about the Galaxy A40, apart from its display size and connectivity features.According to the FCC listing, the Galaxy A40 will sport a 5.7-inch display, which is notably smaller than the Galaxy A30 and the Galaxy A50, both of which come with 6.4-inch displays. We haven’t seen a 5.7-inch Samsung smartphone in quite some time, and even the Galaxy A10 comes with a 6.2-inch display, so it would seem Samsung is looking to offer a compact Galaxy A-series phone for people who want easy one-handed use.Going by past rumours, the Galaxy A40 will also come with an AMOLED panel and a possible Infinity-U waterdrop display. An earlier Geekbench listing told us that the Galaxy A40 will be powered by an Exynos 7885 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and will ship with Android Pie-based One UI.The FCC listing also mentions connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.0 LE. We can also assume a USB Type-C port for the Galaxy A40 considering the Galaxy A30 and A50 also get the same charging port. There is no timeline yet for when the Galaxy A40 will come out, but rumours say the phone may carry a price tag of 249 Euro (approx Rs 19,500). We also expect the Galaxy A40 to launch in India soon as Samsung aims to bring one new Galaxy A-series phone to the country every month until June.advertisementALSO READ | Samsung Galaxy A20e, A40 and A90 listed on Samsung UK website, may launch soonGet real-time alerts and all the news on your phone with the all-new India Today app. Download from Post your comment Do You Like This Story?
